Troutsupport DVDs will help tremendously. I learn something new each time I watch them. Perfect tool to learn to catch limits and big trout. Highly recommend purchasing these. Real will be very happy with the results and customer service.

Trout get finicky this time of year, I rely on solar lunar windows, tried and true patterns first, then whatever it takes to get them to eat. By this I mean I may vary the bait type, retrieve, and color until I get them to eat. Once I start to have some success I will fine tune and try to dial in on what is stimulating them to eat. Truth be known I don't claim to be a "good" trout fisherman, but I have fished with some of the best, and there are "days" where we all scratch our head a little.......

Right now the trout are in the deeper areas (if you are fishing in 3' of water and there is a depression that is 4' deep and no other deeper areas around you can bet there will be some kind of fish there. Fish are attracted to anything that is different than the rest of the area. If it is a big flat all 3' deep and there is a channel next to the flat the channel will hold.
Trout Support DVD's are the BEST bet for sure! If you do not own them you NEED TO BUY THEM! I watch mine all the time and get more ideas each time I watch. Tobin knows his stuff and can help you if you have any questions about the DVD's!

+1 on the Trout Support DVD's. Tremendous quality and easy to understand info. You might be shocked at how quickly the situations you see in the DVD's present themselves. Be ready! Have a plan, but be willing to adjust. Recognize high quality and low quality fishing situations and be ready to move. Call Tobin. He'll be happy to help you. I've yet to talk to a single person who has bought the DVD's that hasn't had a very positive experience with them. And bottom line is this-we want to catch fish when we're on the water. This is not a fleeting interest. For most everyone I know, it's a passion. No rod and reel you buy will be as helpful as these DVD's.

I'm not a chick.

Also, where you are look for bait over mud/oysters. This time of year you don't need to look for huge amounts of bait. If you see a little that is good enough to stop and give it a try. Like others have said look in deeper water.
