My trim motor is moving slow...I mean really slow when the motor is on the rams. This happens when its going up and down. When it snot touching the rams it works fine. You know I wouldn't be so surprised if it was only down meaning that there was a compression issue with the rams, but it happens both ways. I was thinking about draining the fluid and adding new fluid. Although I don't know that will actually work. What I don't want to do is change the oil, then have to buy a new motor, then I end up buying a whole new assembly and now taking it to a mechanic was the cheapest thing all along to do. No visible damage or leaks....

Has anyone experienced this? Were you able to fix it?

What motor? Sounds like the electric motor for the trim may be getting weak.

2000 Yamaha 150. Batteries are full. I thought that too, but I works just fine once the motor leaves the two rams.

That Yamaha normally moves a lot faster on the tilt ram. Not anything else that will cause the slow down on the trim rams when going up and down that I can think of.

Now the motor just clicks and doesn't move at all. I overnighted a new trim motor so I don't miss out on Saturday's tourney! Hope it works!!!

I bet it will. Maybe I will see you at the Green Pastures tournament.
