If Trump can pull this off, more power to him. Market looked strong today.

If they wanted to build one through/under a veterans' cemetary, would y'all still be so thrilled with it?

If they bored under the cemetery I would be fine with it. This isn't a good comparison, because the DAPL isn't going anywhere near any burial grounds.

I have a friend who's job is to go through and identify archaeological sites and help route pipelines around delicate areas so nothing is disturbed. Brilliant guy to sit around the fire and BS with for hours.

If they wanted to build one through/under a veterans' cemetary, would y'all still be so thrilled with it? I'd have zero qualms about it as long as the land owner is compensated appropriately, and there's no check valves or whatever sticking out above ground in said cemetery.

They chose not to attend any of the meetings about the pipeline. It has been re-routed to suit them many times. It isn't on or near their land. Their objections are based on the fact that they aren't getting paid. They are just playing the sacred ground card.

Their objections are based on the fact that they aren't getting paid. They are just playing the sacred ground card. I think they attended the meetings. Maybe not all 500+ that were held, but they represented themselves and made their wishes known pretty clearly. Either way, they were destined to be walked all over in this deal. Everything has a price in this country, and unfortunately for them, their value has never proven to be very high. They've been screwed continually since day one.

Funny how the Dakota pipeline was originally going to be just upriver from Bismarck but got quietly rerouted to dangers of a leak and water contamination.
