So I have asked a few respected catfisherman about this pic. I was cast netting like a mad man trying to catch these "gizzard shad". I thought my Lowarance was turned up to sensitive and it was making the gizzards look like this.... So my question is can someone send me a pic of there 2D Lowrance of catfish and there sensitivity settings? EL Gato and Tom both think these where either catfish or sandbass etc which explains why I was not cast netting them. I should have dropped bait Please feel free to give me any advice or opinions.. I'm still learning but I think I'm starting to figure out a little

There are no shad pictured in the screen shot. Those are all regular fish.

Agreed regular fish , I think your sensitivity is set pretty well just play with the color line a bit, may try around 74 percent if the water is pretty clean.it could help you determine if they are the scaled fish I suspect they are or skinned fish.,
Catch and release into the grease!

Pic 1: Tons of shad maybe a few whites, crappie, bass, or large shad just under the boat at the top of the screen.
Pic 2: Looks like small crappie just above and to the left of the brush on the bottom.
Pic 3: Looks like small whites chasing shad. Then on the bottom left there looks like small crappie next to the bp.
Pic 4: Thats a bunch of whites chasing small schools of shad.
Just my best guess.

You guys are all great.. I'm going to have more confidence and try to remember to drop bait down there next time. I did try slabbing for maybe 2 min and was thinking if those where sandbass I would have gotten a bite. I think I was too impatient chasing something that I was not sure of.

Ok for those opinions I appreciate I wanted to add the down scan I took when I flipped over from 2 D and this is what I got.... So this pic goes with the 2 D that started this post If these where sandbass and I was using a slab with a jib above it and did not catch any what should I have done?
