Best size? Hook size? Plastics to use?

meh, they're OK, had some success but not much. I prefer a jig for it's added bulk, but I use a heavy one, 3/4 to 1 oz and put whatever craw trailer on them or large worm like a 10 inch power worm.

The option are endless. I like to fish them in deep cover (15-25.) 3/4 OZ and similar skirt and trailer that match the bait fish in the lake. I like Hack Attack's with Keitech paddle tails. It's an expensive option but its what I'm comfortable with it.

VMC Swinging Rugby Jig

My favorite swing head jig is the VMC Swinging Rugby Jig. I prefer the 3/4oz, 5/0 size personally. One problem with these type of jigs is that the bait will slide down the hook shank pretty often. But the hook shank on this bait is a little longer, keeping the bait up there a little more often.

Jackall Scissor Comb

One of the coolest baits on the market that I like to put on a swinging jig is the Scissor Comb. This bait is KILLER on a swinging jig! The little flappers on this bait just go crazy when moved. It's one of my secrets... well not anymore. roflmao

I like 3/4oz weight, I think the ones I have are 5/0 hooks. Bait wise I've had the most success with an F6.5 Hags Tornado.

Xcite Baits makes the Walker Head swing jig. You'll notice the hook swivel is further from the actual jig head which allows for move movement/action on the bait. It also has a great bait keeper on the hook to keep your bait from sliding down the shank cover or rocks. When you pair it with the floating Raptor Tail Jr. craw, the action is awesome. If you like DIY, there's all sorts of set ups you can create with different styles of weights and a bobber stop above the weight and one between the weight and hook for free swinging presentations.

If it's calm and sunny put on a strike king rage bug and fish it like a crankbait while its bumping the bottom. Great alternative when they won't bite a crankbait. Weight depending on depth. I usually use 15 pound fluro.
