I was talking with FishyB the other day and explaining to him about all these photographs I have from years of fishing down on the Texas coast and how they are just sitting in shoeboxes, hiding in the closet. They are really on thumb drives but any of you guys that shot pictures back in the film days will know what I mean. So, I was telling him about how much I dislike winter and being cold and on really cold winter nights I'll sit in front of the fireplace and look through my old photos in an attempt to feel the warm sun and salt air on my face again. Just a little reprieve from the beating that is winter. I figured there are guys out there who, like me, are just sitting around the house, tying flies, building leaders, repairing and replacing tackle, maybe sifting through your own old photos and just waiting for the warmer months. I put together this video to get your blood pumping and it gives me an excuse to let some photos out of the box. Its from the last twenty years of my summer trips from the Land Cut to South Bay. I hope you guys enjoy. https://vimeo.com/199178518

Hey Capt. Mac! What I see here are 20+ years of awesome memories on the water. You did an incredible job making still photos come to life through video; really looks like video footage. After watching this I felt the sunburn and the layer of salt on my face! Oh yeah, bags are packed! Great job as always buddy!

That's pretty awesome. So are all of those from film? How did you get convert them to an image? I bought one of those negative scanners but I'm less than thrilled with the color. Seems like just taking a photo of the photo works better but I also have some just negatives.

Thanks guys! It is greatly appreciated! FishyB - I hope someday soon we get to feal the salt air and sun on our faces together. Thanks for the input on this video. RonL - glad I could help out with your morning I use Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum Edition. I love it. It does everything I want to do and then some. I've been using it for a year now and I still haven't done everything it's capable of doing. I'll have to search for you on Vimeo. Preast - about half of those in the video are film. I started shooting digital about seven years ago. I have hundreds of images from the coast and I could have done a hour video and still not used all the pics I really like. Had to really think hard about the ones I used. It was like trying to pick your favorite kid. About ten years ago I sent all my negatives to a photo lab and had them out on CD's. Then, a few years ago, I transfers all of them to thumb drives. Now all my photos are on thumb drives and organized by year. I can't remember the name of the lab but I'll see if I can look it up.
