Stupid Squaw Creek, I just wanted to come fish your 70 degree water when it was 36 a few days ago but the staff determined she was too foggy. Sorry to all the folks out there in that tourney, sucks to drive that far and not get to fish

Do they give you your $30 back if it's fogged out the whole time? It would suck to go there and be stuck at the ramp waste of $30 and 4 hours of driving to me.

Why in the heck don't they let people fish the lake?

Stupid to keep people inside the cove all day long.

Too many guys would be driving by gps and someone would get killed out there.... fog delay is just the nature of the beast.

I have fished Welsh in heavy fog where you could only see 10 feet, I have fished Monticello many times in heavy fog, Fished Cypress Springs in October with severe fog.

I understand being safe, but all other lakes you don't have someone telling you when to launch and not go past a certain point.

heavy fog is very dangerous. too many think they can run on plane and just follow their gps trails. this combination of most people running at idle, and a handful running on plane, creates a very dangerous situation.

and I've almost been hit when idling out of the Monticello ramp area, by a jackwagon trying to get up on plane. missed me by about 10 yards.

as always, a few spoil it for everyone.

Fog is very dangerous, i got caught in a tournament blast off several years ago, several boats passed within 30-40 yards of me, I did not know what to do, it was on Falcon so I got lucky and found one of the marker poles and just stayed close to it until the boat traffic slowed, it was pretty scary.

Boater safety is the main reason but also since 9-11 they have upgraded safety and security protocol around the plant itself as well...I'm sure both these factors play a part...but it does indeed suck for a planned day of fishing

I got mine back but I left by 10. I think if you leave by noon they refund your money. Some people stayed and fished the cove all day.

That's probably the reason

It sucked fishing in the cove all day....it took 12+ to win our club tourney....and another club out there had a 24lb bag....it just sucked playing literal bumper boats all day....

The fog was the worst I've seen it...at some points you couldn't see 20yds.....still.....paying to get in...they could at least make the lake idle only or just make everyone leave.....and for the record they offer full refund if you leave by 11am in fog delay situations....

I live in Plano and stayed the weekend in Granbury. Our club cancelled due to the fog and impending weather. It was a weekend of trailering the boat around 5 hours for nothing. At least I didn't have to get on the water and spend the extra $.
