My dash mounted lowrance graph HDS 12 Gen 3 screen goes black when I start my boat and sometimes turns completely off. Trying to find out what the issue with that is? it is wired to my buss bar behind my graph in the console of my ranger z521c... anyone else have this problem???

Assuming your FF is wired to the starting battery.... It sounds like a voltage drop issue with the motor loading down the 12V when it starts but several things can cause it. Start looking at every 12V connection related to the FF, including grounds and make sure they are all clean with tight connections. If you are running through one of those $8 resettable or self-resetting circuit breakers get rid of it and use an automotive type or a glass fuse. Have the battery load tested. It could be getting weak with enough power to crank the motor but dropping voltage in the process. The last possibility that I can think of would be the head unit itself, but I would not condemn it until every thing else has been checked.

Unless that bus bar is dedicated for electronics only, that is most likely your problem. Most fuse panels and wiring harnesses are not wired correctly for today's electronics. Wire the graphs directly to the battery with no smaller than 16ga (the bigger the better) wire with an in line spade fuse with proper amperage at the battery. You could also install a fuse panel for graphs only and wire it from the battery with 10ga marine wire.
