LOL at least you did not say BASS or the fans, anglers or sponsors were dumb as a 65+ year old with nothing nice to say about anything it seems.

The locations are about the money and the venues. Crowds on the lake will have little weight in a decision.

They are running a business not a fishing community service. The lake will be just fine. Rough from the boat traffic but they will get by. Plus the weights could be good.

I think it is an honor BASS chose a Texas Lake. I think some people have sour grapes because it was Conroe, but I fish a Fed. Nation 130+ boat tournament on it every March along with numerous locals and other high school tournaments and the boat traffic and courtesy is not a problem. Yes there are jerks, but I saw more boat discourtesy in one day on Squaw Creek than all of the Conroe tournaments combined. I am sure there will be plenty of Sheriff and Game Wardens boats on the lake to take care of the clueless boaters.

Well you will get your chance because the Elites are going to both T-Bend and Rayburn this year. Look me up when you get there.

I for one am very happy to see BASS hold its SUPERBOWL in the state that has the most BASS members. It only makes sense. Folks are gonna knock or praise Conroe because of their personal experiences on the lake, and unfortunately, from what they hear on forums like this. Yes, the Classic venue almost always comes down to dollars and facilities and Conroe fits that better than any other Texas lake I can think of, other than maybe a few in the Dallas area. Holding it on Conroe does present obstacles, but isn't that what the classic is about? Managing fish, adapting to the environment and changing conditions, overcoming the obstacles that man and nature are presenting? There will be a lot of virtues tested in those 3 days. Its gonna be won by someone who can grind it out and deal with the external pressures.

I think you're wrong, Chance. If that were the case, TTBC would not have come here so many times. Same number of anglers, almost the same amount of hype. Most who will "spectate" on Conroe will be local fishermen and some out of towners who want waypoints. Vast majority of those folks will be courteous and try not to interfere with the outcome of the event. I was at every TTBC held on Conroe and stayed with three-four pros who fished in the event, each time. Never once heard a negative word about spectators or crowds from any of them.

Also, all of the festivities centered around downtown and the venue being 40 miles NW of here should also cut down on crowds at the lake.

I said this the day they made the announcement. Some how, some way, anglers would find a way to complain about this after having complained forever that BASS hadn't brought a Classic to Texas. It is what it is.

Glad it's here, it will be great and the Pro's will manage the lake and spectators just like they do every year. There's noting "special" about Conroe or unique. It's a lake, they'll fish it, weigh in the fish and crown a champion. The sky isn't falling.

Go enjoy the event or stay home and watch it on live. Super simple.

Rick C. Not being there is so wrong. He won a tournament at the start of the year that historically would got him an invite but they changed the format and now a win doesn't mean anything. It's all on a point system
