Chronarchs, Stradics, Falcon Lowriders, Cast-aways, are they fine to use, marginal, or don't do it?

Probably OK. I would not use any reel made with magnesium in saltwater though.

Friends in Peru fish heavily with Stradics 5000FJ in spraying surf and wading chest deep too.
Just rinse them afterwards

Like D Miner said, a mag or graphite reel probably wouldn't do too well for too long. Chronarchs are no issue, and the rod doesn't really matter. Just rinse off both when your done.
