I have an odd question. Say you find yourself in a deep hydrilla bed or your hull hits bottom. Is it possible with these electric drive motors to pull the motor up and run it just on the surface of the water until you get out of trouble? You guys know what I'm talking about? That "oh sh**" moment when you pull the cord to unlock it from the bracket, lift the motor up enough just to skim the top to get out of weeds or off a stump. Sure you can. Simply raise the motor straight up as high as you need it and then drop the shaft lock down and tighten....

Jacob, the Ultrex deploys the same way the Fortrex does and you can pull it up and down to manuever around stumps and such. I got the new motor today and reading all about it. Problem with the new motor is that the motor will cut out when disengaged from the locked position. Yes, you can manually slide the motor up and down and it will run as far as I can tell, but it will not stay running while pulling the deployment cord up and down to get around objects.
There is a LOT to learn about this remote with the link system. Pages of stuff it can do.
A LOT TO LEARN!!!

I have the Ultrex. It will still run if you pull it up from the locked position. It will automatically cutoff if you raise more than about 6 inches from the locked position and start back running when you lower it back towards the locked position.

Did you have to install the bow stabilizer bumper rod?

Ok fished in some wind. I will attach and you can see it was blowing. Trolling motor did great. It had a little trouble but I am sure it was due to hitting submerged limbs. No way would have I been able to catch any crappie without it.
