Ended up I didn't have to - someone had already beat me to it.

Very though thing to have to deal with.

I would make sure you take care of your family and Dad first. Don't mean to sound ugly about it. Hope it is not taken that way.

Wish you the best.

Brian, I feel your pain and lived the same. Sadly, both my brother and mother are dead. Brother at 33 and mother at 60. Both were in an out of rehabs for as long as I could remember. My brother was the first born and I think he was born addicted in 1971. Mom was a pill head before being a pill head was cool. Sadly, she was looped out most of my older life.

They were both in an out of so many facilities. We all catered to their every need but nobody could ever make them better.

My prayers are with you and your family.

Thing is you can't do anything but love them and pray for them. Protect yourself mentally and of course hire an attorney and protect your assets.

Lived thru this with my sister and mother.

Prayers for u all.

I can promise you we talk more about how to fix this than we ever do about the dealership.

Sorry man, addiction is a family wrecking ball. Nothing you or your dad say can make them get better. I'm an alcoholic and me quitting had to come from me. Al anon is a great resource. If you haven't tried it yet, you might want to.

Sometimes all you can do is just let you know you love them. Best wishes being sent to you and the family.

Prayers for you, your dad, your brother, and your mother. All the new regulations that cause folks who do take their meds properly and have pharmacies cross checking to make sure you are not getting multiple prescriptions for these type of meds makes you realize just how necessary these steps were needed. However for a doctor to abuse writing prescriptions for these drugs so much that pharmacies in McKinney will not fill the prescriptions is outrageous. The feds should have shut him down a long time ago.

It is going to be very tough for your mother and brother. Prayers for them to be able to handle the physical and mental pain.

You can't fix "it" nor can you fix "them".
It's tough, but the best thing you can do is cut off ALL support and let them reach bottom. Pray for them and give them a Big Book and cut all other support. If and when they get clean and sober, support them then. You and your dad need to get in AlAnon and go on a regular basis. You won't like what you hear, but it's gospel. Call me anytime with any questions you might have.
