Why do people open ammo boxes in the store? What exactly are they expecting to find other than bullets? Are manufacturers hiding baseball cards in there nowadays?

Looking for imperfections, sometimes thieves will switch out the rounds to pay cheaper prices.

Also I want to see what the bullet looks like if I'm unfamiliar with the round. If you know everything I guess one wouldn't need to do such. I really don't see this as an issue.

Sometimes you see odd stamps on the box and you need to look at it to make sure you know what you are buying. Foregn manufacturers put all kinds of weird names on 9x19 ammo.

I like to make sure they're easy to load in the magazine I use. I always get weird looks.

You ever buy a box of ammo that had something different in it than what was on the label?
