I'm glad you are still alive. I thought the honey hole mafia might have killed you in the night. Those potlickers get worked up when you mess with their hero.

I went the lazy route and bought a can of cabbage yesterday. Looks pretty good on the label though.

I just like simple steamed cabbage myself. Split it into 4-6 wedges, put about 2 tablespoons of water into a corningware dish, put the wedges in and sprinkle with a little Ms Dash, cover and turn on for about 5 minutes. We prefer it still a little firm/crunchy, not mushy. This is the low calorie way but you can put a little butter on each wedge for more flavor but it bumps up the calories

I like cabbage wedges. Cut up in wedges, oil it, salt and pepper, grill or bake it till it gets a little crispy on the edges.

I did the same thing but wrapped in bacon. Didn't turn out great and used a lot of bacon. Still tasted good.

Stew it with bacon drippings, salt, pepper and a little sugar in just a little water. Add bacon trimmings if you got them. Serve with a skillet of cornbread and a pork chop for a good meal. Add a pot of pintos and ham if you're flush.

The best cabbage I've had came from a field in the RGV direct to my stew pot in McAllen. It was very sweet without any sugar added.
