I have often wondered how many times I've caught the same fish over and over again on this lake. From the time it is 12 inches long till it has reached 20 inches long, I'm guessing several times at least. I also think this is why these fish pull so hard, they have had so much experience doing this over all their lives. I would also think that they would learn to quit striking at artificial baits. But they just keep on hitting these things.

I have often wondered how many times I've caught the same fish over and over again on this lake. Remember the longest running fishing show used to catch, RF tag, name, release and track one or two bass a few days before filming the show while a tournament fished the lake Only once in the long history of the show did a tagged fish actually get caught. Must have been over the years, thousands of tournament anglers fishing for a tagged bass. Often they were casting quite near the tagged bass that only stayed in one area for a day to so. There are just so many more numbers of bass in most any small area of a lake that our odds of randomly catching a given specific one (one that we caught before) must be very small. Now if we learn exactly which stump, brushpile or rock a bass frequents and we revisit the spot within a few days, the recatch odds might improve. I think one summer, I caught the same bass on a very isolated stump on Gibbons several weekends in a row. No, you cannot get my GPS coordinates.

I was throwing a Carolina rig off a drop off and broke off. I came back a few hours later throwing the same rig and caught a fish my hook and fluke in his mouth.
