Put my son and son in law on their pb today. Awesome day on the water. You couldn't screw it up today. Fished 30 - 40 feet today. Fished 4 spots with a 20 plus at each spot. Released 4 big guns and brought home a huge fish fry. You didn't have to be good today. You just needed a hook in the water

Lake Lavon. Fog was really thick, could barely see my fishing buddy at front of boat. Fished the points near the ramp in 30 feet and caught some good eaters. 2 pounders. All of the points held fish. Decided to drift main lake and we were getting a lot of drops so we dropped anchor when we saw a lot of activity and then it was on. Fish definitely needed time to eat their Christmas Eve meal. There was about 20 minutes between bites. When we went 30 minutes we moved about 100 yards until we saw activity on bottom and the bite was similar. Off points fish were 2-5 pounds. IN open water fish were 8 - 35 pounds. Caught 4 in the 8 - 15 pound range that we called dinner and 4 more in that 20 - 35 pound range and we let them swim away. Bait. We had chicken breast soaked in cherry Kool Aid and Garlic Powder and Bluegill. All fish caught on Bluegill. Three baits per bluegill. Fillets that we scaled worked really well. Big ones liked the fish heads. Everybody on the boat caught a 20 plus, so it was a good day. We fished the same spots on Thankgsgiving weekend with no luck. Maybe they were just hungry. Fish did not have anything in their stomachs?

That's awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I've gotta get weather that lets me get the small boat out into deeper spots.
Props!

Tried same pattern on 12/27 and what was fast and furious on Christmas Eve was not so great yesterday. Just like Christmas Eve, we were marking the big boys on the graph everywhere. They were there but uncooperative. Only two fish on the day. First fish 4 pounds. Second fish 20 pounds. Christmas Eve was a falling barometer. Yesterday was a rising barometer and higher pressure. Also interesting, the two fish caught were on slip bobbers set up directly under the shad 9 feet off bottom. We had not a bite on the bottom. If it was easy they would call it catching. Every day is different and we did not solve the puzzle yesterday. Plus, we caught a 20 pound fish, so I guess you have to appreciate quality over quantity.
