I am taking the grandkids fishing tomorrow. I normally bass fish but don't want hooks being slung around on the boat with 3 small kids so I figure that I'll give them a try at crappie. I never crappie fish so I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction as to what to look for and depths I should be trying out at Pool. Don't need exact spots but something to help me break the lake down a bit. Only going to be out for a few of the warmer hours in the afternoon. I assume the bridges are the place to start but what about brush piles and what depth should I be looking for? How about the creeks? Would it be worth making the drive back into them or stay on the main lake?
Any help will be appreciated.

If you are fishing the main lake I would stay at the bridges. If you think the kids could do it, I would walk the creeks right now. The creeks have been great lately but not sure how accessible they are with a boat. 1/16 ounce jig 12-16" under a float is all you need in the creeks. If you can get your boat back in the creeks then go for it. All of the creeks are on fire right now.

OK that's great info. I believe I can still get back in the creek in the boat and I'll be out of any wind so I'll give that a try. Thank you, I'm sure they'll be happy to catch anything.

We made it into the creek but didn't have any luck. Everyone was saying the same thing, couldn't get a bite. Heard that they were biting earlier in the morning.
