Has anyone used the remote drain plug system by Flo-Rite? Thinking about installing on my Skeeter. Any experiences good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's a pretty salty price for a drain plug. I have never had one but it looks like it adds about 4 or 5 points of failure to your boating pleasure to me.

What is a remote drain plug supposed to do? It sounds like a solution looking for a problem. I tried to find it on the Flo-Rire website just out of curiosity and could not.

Greatest thing ever invented. My Triton required a knee pad and a long straining reach to get to the plug. It was easy to install and I would pay twice what it cost as it really saves your back and knees. Plus if you forget to close it can be shut quickly from inside the boat. Get one and you will be happy with it.

Its a cable driven system with a toggle switch that can be mounted somewhere in the boat. The benefit is that it's easy to access and you can tell whether the plug is in. I read that it comes on some of the Rangers. Go to YouTube and search on Remote Drain Plug Installation and you'll find it.

I often tell people that the Flo-Rite remote drain plug is the best thing about my boat. I've literally had 0 problems with it. It's one of the greatest things that has ever been invented.

I stand corrected. I have launched without the plug before.

I need to get one. My boat you have to get on a knee and lean underneath it to install. I once got lazy and didn't look, just reached under, felt the hole and put it in. About 15 minutes later I found out that I had stuck it in the wrong hole and there was no way to get to the plug without a swim. I look now but would be nice to just push/pull and never worry about the drain plug coming out by accident which I have had happen before and sunk a boat because of it years ago.

Based on feedback and some other reviews, I plan to install one.

I believe they are now standard equipment on Ranger boats?

I read that they are standard on one of the Ranger models but I don't recall which one.

I don't have a "tournament saver", but close. I have one that can be pulled into the hole and tightened from inside the boat in an emergency. Still have to get my hands wet, depending on how long it took to remember decides how wet I get. Lol.

We have installed a few of them and they seem to be a great idea. If you have a Basscat or any other boat with the stainless screw in kind of plug it will not work.

I got one installed in my 2006 Ranger Z20 and I absolutely love it. I have never had any trouble with it. I googled around before getting it and I could not find anyone who had something bad to say about it.
