Howdy!

My workplace (graciously) gives me off the week in between Christmas and New Years, and just about the only place that's going to be warm(ish) and not raining is the Texas coast. I'd love to get some saltwater fly fishing in for about three days. I don't have a kayak or a boat, and I'd like to stay on the northern coast. Does anyone have any recommendations for some good wading around Galveston, Rockport, Port A, etc.? I have some limited experience fly fishing around there, but not a ton, so any advance or direction would be great. Thanks in advance!

Christmas bay is easy to get to and very wadeable. There are two paved access points off the blue water hwy in Surfside. One is Dolphin drive, the other Amigo ln.

Miles of mostly firm bottom sand and grass on that south shoreline. A few little patches of reef, with one big reef area.to the south of dolphin drive. I fly fish the area quite a bit throughout the fall, winter, and spring, but stay in my Commander kayak most of the time. Lots of stingrays in that bay.

Clousers, baitfish patterns, the usual stuff seems to work.
