the hosts file on Windows 10 is still there. You will have to run your text editor as Administrator to edit it. It will not save unless you are Administrator).

The path is C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts.

While you are at it add the hosts file from mvps hosts as it will stop a bunch of BS from ever getting to your computer. It will blackhole thousands of sites that are malicious, Infected, Cross Site scripting to scam privacy. Many Bogus things are blocked.
You will get a missing banner ad here and there and the Google ads will stop working. Makes me happy to see a missing ad here and there.

I have installed their hosts file hundreds of times and have had no complaints.
Get the details here.

Why do you say that? I'm a big fan of McAfee Enterprise.

I've had many PCs infected that had McAfee running with green status oblivious to the viruses. McAfee is SNAFU, first thing we do to any computer is get rid of McAfee.

I am too.

I don't understand why there is this bashing of McAfee.

I've used most of the best selling antivirus software programs like Norton, McAfee and Avast in enterprise level computer environments and never had a problem with any of them.

What some people don't realize is the end user also has a responsible to not screw things up when it comes to installing these software packages properly, selecting the correct options, keeping the software up to date and not changing stuff without realizing the consequences of such.

McAfee and Symantec/Norton ignores some malware like fake antivirus programs. Second, McAfee and Symantec suite products slow a PC down more than any I've seen. In short, they suck.

I'm not digging the new windows 10. It's really making my laptop slow. Running the same apps that I used to run under 7 is making my CPU max out.

Kaspersky Enterprise is pretty good. Have to be careful about the network blocking part. Be thorough on your exclusions and make sure to create the correct install packages for each type of computer/server. Been happy so far once we figured it all out.

What a maroon!
