what size hooks were you using?

anyway, i just wish they stock something little bigger. I mean, would there be that much difference in terms of costs.. 8 - 9 inchers are just too small.. 15inchers would be really nice..

Sorry guys, I didn't realize the recent posts were focusing on Bethany. I've fished at Hulen Park in Cleburne and Chisolm Trail in Hurst. I'm using a #6 (maybe #8??) cricket style hook and threading 2-4 kernels of corn on the hook. I also use 2-3 split shot weights, just enough to bounce the corn around on the bottom. I cast out, keep it there for a second or 2 and then reel it in slowly, stopping every now and then. The take more often than not, is when the bait is moving. The key though is to throw a small handful of corn out to chum the fish. The fish are fed pellets at the fishery, and I think the size of the corn resembles the size/shape of the pellets and the yellow just helps with the visibility. When I cleaned the fish, they really stuffed themselves with the corn so perhaps throw a small handful out after every catch to keep them feeding.

btw..Rolled them in flour with a touch of salt and plenty of pepper. Fried them in a olive oil/butter mix until golden brown. Fillets came easily right off the bones. Dipped them in a tarter sauce/horse radish mix. They tasted great.

They were biting flies well up at Denison Saturday in the freezing cold. Didn't seem to matter which one, but people with bait and spinners didn't catch anything. Smaller seemed to be the ticket.

Wow! I applaud you guys for your hardcore dedication. I went last Saturday @ 3PM and it start getting cold crazy and the wind did not help at all. I caught two and decided it's not worth to get a limit for hypothermia

Went to Bethany lakes last Saturday, and got my personal best trout: 12 inches.
