Thnx, looking into a replica mount and certifying a set of scales so someone else doesn't go through what I did trying to find a set . Would be nice to have a accurate and up to date list in this forum with people that have scales and are willing to certify the weight for a angler lucky enough to catch a record. Never thought I would and it but me in the [censored]! What do y'all think?

Nice fish!! Dad caught this one a couple years back in a small tourney. It was 5.00 even on the scale. The tourney director told him he would send the info in to TPWD to certify it as the lake record. But, he never heard anything.

Exactly why I am gonna get a scale certified! The guy who weighed your fish should have given your dad the proper form to send himself. It's a process but it's easily done with the right resources and I'm making that happen soon! Nice fish Nice fish!! Dad caught this one a couple years back in a small tourney. Why is their scale cert. out? seems like I've seen multiple threads here of fisherman trying to weigh a fish there only to find out they can't.

The issue was internal and is being fixed as we speak. I verified yesterday that they have sent thier scale off to be rcertified. I am also sending off one i have and will go though the TPWD process to be a weigh station myself for those in the area that are lucky enough to have a record. I wont be able to weigh big catfish, but bass and smaller i will and will come to you in an emergency. I know what i went through and dont want others to have to go threw that. I have heard countless stories of possible records and such being cuaght on a Sunday or Holiday and no scales were available.
My weight and length will hold but wont last 10 years like the last record! too many big smallies in the area for it to last but its my once in a lifetime kind of deal!
