I would also like to ask about that, to include any lake. Is there a general area for all lakes? Or basically just cast and see? Havent't really had any luck lately. Maybe when the temp goes up I have more luck.

Sandy beaches and boat launches work pretty well for me.

Ray Roberts is almost impossible for me to find shad. I can do good if I throw at the boat ramps at 12am...any other time and i have dismal results. Today I went out and tried around the marina at 4am and only cought a handful.
Lewisville, on the other hand, is full of them and easy to catch big shad. I throw anywhere around westlake park and can get nets full with each throw...last week we had 3 in the drift sock!

The sides of the old lake dallas dam is another place for large shad. Just beware of the rocks just out of sight.
