Well after moving to our new place, I'm finally getting my fishing stuff in the shop organized with peg board and a work station. I would like to add a simple line spooling station. Anyone have ideas or a design they are willing to share? Thanks Coach

I saw a youtube about Mike Iconelli's house/garage where he keeps all his 'stuff'.
It showed how he had made a spooling station on the wall, pretty cool. Even had tension on the spools.

I've used this for years as well, mine finally broke where the shaft fits into the plastic tower. I tried to look on youtube for the Ike garage spooling station, but couldn't find it. I may get one of these to try.

If I had a shop I'd put a Box on the wall with a dowel rod through it sit in the boat and spool away.

I'd think all you'd need is something similar to a TP roll holder. Just use a smaller dowel in place of what you'd stick the roll on. You could add springs on either side to give it tension.

Or this with springs for the tension.

Best system I have found is this. Breaks down and stores on the boat out of the way.

There are a few good inexpensive options on Amazon as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking of filling it with JB Weld or some such. But there is no fun in that, I'm just looking for something different to try out.

Make your own station - 12-15" 2x4 and two small pieces of 1"x and a 6" long Dow rod 4 screws takes about 10minutes to make. Sure beats asking the wife or kids to help spool your reels.

This cheapskate drove a nail into the end of a 2x4 and I don't have to unseat the reel.
