Maybe im just not very open minded but I always think that punchbaits, etc. are gonna get smaller eater size cats compaired to live, or cut bait. Is this just me being closedminded?

It all depends on the lake ,and how you dangle your worm. Up to date I have caught my biggest cat(15pounds)on punchbait.Dont forget the more you fish the better fish you catch.Of all the people that catfish probably only 20% of them are the only ones that can catch big fish consistantly because they are the ones that fish enough and gain the experiance for bigger game.If we think we are going to go out for the first few times and land a big cat we might get a let down. But you never know? That is why we get up at 400 am and spend big money to go fishing. But with all that said I have seen a 40 pounder caught on punchbait. And I have seen bigger fish caught on cut bait and live.To have big fish in the lake helps.LOL I think it all depends on what your looking for. It wont hurt to use both. The body of water has a lot to do with what bait to use and confidence.Never get locked into one thing.Always try to learn and adapt to what the fish want. This is all just my opinion.Take it for what it is worth.

I've also heard that flatheads usually only hit on live bait. Does anyone have anything to say on that?

breeder cubes and range cubes are the same thing . be sure you get the 24% sometimes range cubes are 20% . just ask a sales person and specify you want the 24% cubes.

when you sour your stuff leave the lid cracked it will make gases as it sours. i have used both range cubes and soured grains. i like sour grains because it is harder for them to eats as long as you srpead it out and not dump it out. caught lots of cats with the grains in the stomach anyway though but if they eata cube then the cube swells in there stomach and there full??? punch bait works very well when fishing with sour grains
