Not only the cold, but the wind should make it miserable. I like a good cold day with no wind and the snow flyin.

trim your motors down so the water doesnt expand and crack anything in the lower unit/prop area. make sure there is no water in the bilge area (expands and cracks pumps.)

Keeping my lower unit backed up to the fire place (and maybe a small glass of Crown)
To whom much is given, much is required.

Time for a hike up a creek! Took a scouting trip yesterday, fished several spots, bluegill by the bucket, but small, one yearling bass, and then a deep clear water hole, just downstream from a sharp L bend in creek, the motherlode of crappie! 20-30 in about 45 minutes! Only one problem: ALL DINKS! But just the fact that the crappie were up where I expected them to be this time of year is good. The big ones will make a push this week/weekend, and it will be on!
What you fearful of cold weather guys need to remember is that in a creek, with the woods and sloping banks, you can find protection from winter winds. Once the thump starts, your blood circulates, you are moving around, and your body is generating heat. AND THE CRAPPIE DO BITE IN THE CREEKS IN THE DEAD OF WINTER. In fact I consider this THE REAL CRAPPIE SEASON. Off to a good start so far, lol!

thanks Rudy! Good stuff. - IF - you can find the right creek, with the right 'holes' and no crowds. Yep, it's fun! You must have walked 1,000 miles on the bank and creeks. I'll be out in my boat...

Thanks I realized when i trimmed mine down that there should be NO water in the lower unit since we all DO THE RIGHT THING and drain our lower units each time we leave a lake. lol I was surprised when no water came out... Then I remembered why.
