Tim Cowlishaw has a column in the DMN saying the Rangers should trade Yu Darvish, a relief pitcher, and either Profar or Odor for Clayton Kershaw.....thoughts?

Its a money thing, if they are going to drop that kind of coin way better off keeping Darvish.

They have the money to sign Darvish. It's a matter of do they want to and does Darvish wanna be here. It's been said multiple times that Darvish has no desire to resign with Texas. Don't know how true that is but it was said all this season that he doesn't wanna be here. Based on the fact that they haven't even had conversations would indicate neither side is too awful interested so it's better to get something for him than watch him walk away for nothing in return. If you can pull a deal for Kershaw, you do it in a second. He's from here and lives here in the off season, so at least he'd wanna be here. Texas is prob the only team he'd waive his no trade. It won't happen cause JD thinks prospects will bring us a WS and refuses to trade any but it's fun to dream!

Not counting the business side of it I would much rather have Kershaw.

That's a terrible trade considering we need help in the pen too. Its pretty much a wash for starters and we give up a bullpen spot where we need a ton of help. Not to mention our middle infield and spot in the line up. Dumb trade scenario.

Not to mention, Kershaw is 4-7 in 14 postseason starts with a 4.5 ERA.

Darvish is fixing to plitch in a contract year. He's gonna bring his best. Come end of June if rangers aren't in contention then you trade him to help the next season. No reason to anything now

This is a fun what if... But y'all know Kershaw is not going anywhere. He's said he wants to stay in LA his whole career and I feel the a dodgers are just fine with that.
