Well my projects never stop. I'm trying to install a depth finder on the front of my G3. I've got the wires run from the console to the front, but I'm having extreme difficulty running the wires from the console to the rear to the batteries. There is a small channel that runs just under the rails to the rear of the boat. I've used an electrical "fish" tape to push/pull the wires through. I never seem to hit the right hole so the wires don't come out where they are supposed to. Only complaint with the boat so far, is that all of the carpeted panels underneath and on the side of the console (that hide and run the wires and hoses) are rivited, so they can't easily be removed. I worked for two days (Sat & Sun. [missed tournament on Sun.]) working on getting those wires back there. Got real aggravated on Sun. afternoon and decided to drink a beer. Ok, several beers. Anyone have a solution? HELP

Running wires are a pain without the right equipment. I know that is what I do for a living and every boat is different. Fish taps are not the best to use because they bend to easy. If you can find a old throtle cable they work better some times. I use things calle green stick, they are for running wire for alarm systems in houses and man do they work well. If you have a old broken rod you can take the eyes off it will go straight for you. Good luck and frustration hurts sometimes

Is there another wire that you could take loose and tie on a string to? Pull it back, tape the new wire on and pull an extra string for the future. Understand what I am saying? That is what i did on my rig and it worked easily. Good luck...

On my last boat, I ran solid core copper wires (+ & -)from the accessory battery to two metal charge bars I installed underneath my console. Then when I needed a electrical connection I had it right there and just installed a in-line fuse on the + wire.

I did what Gus explained and it works great, just remember everytime you need to pull a wire through to tie on a new string and you will be ready for the next time.

I rans a length of pvc pipe up the channel in my old aluminum boat, so changing out wires was a snap.
