I want to get some coveralls that will allow freedom for casting but warm too. What are you hard core winter fisherman using these days?

I love my Guide-wear from Cabelas. They had some in the bargain cave a few weeks ago, for about half off.

Insulated nylon zip-up 1 piece snowmobile suit. Look at Walls. I got a pair many years ago at Walls Outlet Store in Cleburne. I have a nice Gortex rain suit when it's wet but this loose fitting suit is the most comfortable thing for fishing or hunting I have ever had for cold/windy weather. Like wearing a sleeping bag-but in a good way. Oversized so I can layer and bend over! Downside? Not to "cool" looking....but neither am I anymore!

I use Walls as well. I have the bib overalls that I use the most and I also have the full coveralls. I went for warmth and comfort. If it is wet I put on the frog togs over them. I did get the Walls from FleetFarm in Minnesota as the coveralls up there seem to be warmer than the ones they sell here in Texas. I am convinced that there is a difference. I also wear the mush mittens I got up there they use for dog sledding. Better than any gloves you can buy. I wear all of this when riding the bike as well in the winter. Keeps me oh so toasty and cuddly when it is cold.

Stormr neoprene suit. Put a sweatshirt and jeans on under it and you'll be warm with maximum mobility -- even has a bit of floatation in case you fall in.

It is never a good idea to wear cotton inside a insulated suit..a thin merino wool base layer is what i use against my skin..cotton absorbed the sweat you produce under suit and it is very slow drying..you also have more movement..i work at the REI in Plano and will be glad to show anyone who wants to see how you layer

I've got a pair of cheap nylon insulated bib overalls. Advantage is that I can use different wind breaking insulated jackets over the top depending on conditions.

Same here. Cheap ski pants. Stop the wind and are insulated.

I have some that I bought at Dicks several years ago. As a stocky kinda guy these are great. They are warm and have elastic side panes for comfort.
I had been on a guide trip and these were suggested by him, he had on the same thing,..I think we paid about $40-50..excellent buy.

Man, you cant beat the price on the Frogg Toggs. Just buy one size bigger than you normally wear so you will be able to put on a couple of layers under. All you really need is a wind break in the cold. Get yourself a pair of Muck boots and you'll be happy.

Price is right. How is the durability?

Gore-Tex Jacket and Gore-Tex Pants(North Face Or Guidewear) then Base Layer Under Armour Cold Gear #2 if over 40 degrees Cold Gear #3 under 40 ..Shirt..fleece lite Jacket or Hoodie and Sweat Pants. But the key to me is Gore-Tex, since I am usually out after dark even in Feb this is what I have came up with. Any type of precip or breeze I feel comfortable and I have a great range of motion without a big winter suit. Always carry a extra set in the boat even... Just my 2cents
