So I've semi settled on the sv7 due to the picture quality over other brands in that $$$ range verses features and I'm ok with not having the chart plotter. Just really want to hear anyone's experience with their garmin. Is this a good finder for finding bait and fish id or not?
Thanks!

I love my SV9, the only thing I don't like is their add on chart/chip, I have a HB to use just for the Lakemaster chips,..the Garmin is the best DI and SI pics I've seen, and is the easiest to use..jim

it comes with loaded maps for where ever you are, and most have slots for chips that will enhance the mapping. The problem with Garmin in my opinion they will not take two of the better mapping chips, they do have their own though you can buy.

Love my 73sv. The more I use it the better I get with it!

Catfinder, if you are speaking of the Striker 7sv it is a really good unit. The ClearVu and SideVu are great along with the standard sonar. There is no chip slot to add any kind of upgraded maps. The unit has GPS but no mapping. And no QuickDraw. It will support way points and tracks.

I've been looking into both the 7sv and 73sv. Both seem to top the competition in their category. Though they don't have a ton of reviews like lw and hb they are spoken of better by the folks who have had them both. Either way ive found both with a 60 buck price difference. So it's a no Brainer
