Had my best 40 minutes of crappie fishing ever before the northern blew in and blew me off the lake this morning. 13 fat black crappie caught and threw 3 10 inchers back. 15-22 foot of water on a drop off with a cheap, Wal Mart 1/8 oz. Marabou jig.my trolling motor gave out after 30 minutes of running on high so I had to leave them biting. On and off the lake in an hour.

Fished decker and the water temp was only 63 degrees. Pretty cold for a Power plant lake!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

SWEET!!! thumb

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Gotta love that feeding frenzy when the crappie start biting, and goes to show that you don't need crazy expensive lures.
