How I tie a leader knot to join a fluorocarbon leader to braided line with a surgeon's knot. I find this quicker than a uni to uni knot, and just as strong. First half is why I use leaders, skip to 1:20 mark if you just want to see how to tie the knot. For those using really long leaders, say longer than 8', probably want to stick to the uni. Otherwise, this knot can get you get fishing again quickly.

Nice video, why doesn't the Blood Knot get any love though?
I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.

Nice video, why doesn't the Blood Knot get any love though? Because the uni to uni is about the same but easier to tie would be my guess. My favorite is the Alberto knot for joining two lines.

I used to tie that knot, it broke on me a couple of times so i switched to the crazy alberto knot, maybe I was tying it wrong, did you go through the knot 3 or 4 times ?

will try this for sure. been using uni to uni and it has a tendency to fail at the knot VERY easily with a light leader. end up using a heavier leader than i want
thanks

Three works for me with 15 pound string and 8 or 10 pound flouro. I've used it to catch numerous fish in a row and several over 7 pounds and the knot is good. I use it with a 5 or 6 foot leader and its just as easy. You just have to pull it through the loop several times.
Techy me made me start using the PR knot and I have no problem with it either.
