Has anyone else been in the Temple Academy store and noticed lots of empty pegs/shelves with fishing lures/bait?

I asked an employee and they stated its the buyers that are lacking at the corp level. Either way.... if your looking for bigger selections then look elsewhere. ggrrrrrrr

Yes, seems like it is always like that. I go to Waco now or even Killeen. They always have a better selection. Was told by Waco store that is as to do with the store classification as to what each store carry's in product.

The Wichita Falls store is no better. Best thing to do is write a complaint to corporate on their website. Academy usually takes complaints pretty seriously and tries to get it addressed.

Its like that all over. there are three locations near me in Houston. It seems the shelves are empty of the essential gear every time I go. I've given up on buying terminal tackle and soft plastics there and resorted to on line. If I need something quick I'll stop in, but most of my money goes to Tackle Warehouse.

Add the Tyler store to the list. More and more empty pegs every time I go. Seems like they are cutting back on the ZOOM product line in particular but there's not much of any of the other soft plastics either.

It's end of year. A lot of retail stores will start letting stock run bare or dry so they don't have to pay taxes on the inventory. Arlington store is same as you are describing. Plus it's winter or at least what we call winter. I am surprised there are not better sales right now through end of year. If it's like this all the time then something is off. Arlington shelves are usually stocked good from spring through summer.

We have 2 stores in Plano. Central Expressway has very little and virtually no customer service.
Tollway at Parker has excellent inventory and staff actualy comes to you to help.

Yes all Academy stores are like that. They are end of year and the buyers are trying to make a plan for what to purchase and sell and they are way behind. According to my buddy they won't even be ordering new reels until March, so good luck getting a reel from them. Tungsten weights have been out of stock for 4 months it seems like and I haven't been able to buy a spro frog in any decent color there in a while to.

This a year round issue at the temple store. It just gets a little worse this time of year.

A lot of stores will let their inventory run low this time of year so they pay less taxes on it in January,
But this sounds like a good old Corporate America at it again, let's hire someone that probably don't know anything about fishing and put them in charge of ordering.

If it was easy, everyone would do it

Temple store blows bad. On lack of Zoom baits, I was told by store manager they switched vendors and that was the issue with lack of product. Been that way for last 4 months. Should not be that hard for him to fix. Personally think they could care less. I don't even go in their anymore. sick sick sick
