Plan on purchasing 2 everstart marine maxx batteries for our bass tracker. Also planning to paraell these 2 batteries while the outboard is connected to one of them, since these batteries are dual purpose. Any comment.

I have a Perko switch on my boat. When you turn it to off, everthing in the boat is dead. It has saved me a couple of times when I left the something on after I put the boat up.

almost all boats here on the coast have 2 cranking batteries and a switch (perko being the most common)the switch has a 1 2 or all selector can be a life saver when far from home.

A selector switch is good for offshore and ski boats but I would`nt want to pull from the cranking battery with the trolling motor. If you need the battery capacity dedicate 2 for the trolling motor and mount switchable breakers so you can turn off and protect the circuits. One for the main battery and 2 for the trolling battery`s. Heck you can get a cranking battery for what a good selector switch cost. Most bass fishermen carry a set of short booster cables just in case.

Put an All Charge in the boat. Evertime you crank the motor it'll charge your batteries.

Doesn't the all charge only work when you are plugged in to your towing vehicle?

The motor has an altenator that keeps your starting battery charged.

The Stay'N Charge works on your tow vehicle. The All Charge goes on the boat, and will charge while your big motor is running, or you can get a single bank charger for your starting battery, and the All Charge will cycle thru your trolling batteries while you are charging off the single bank charger plugged in to the wall. Just some small info for you tho, while charging thru an AC current wall plug you will only charge your batteries to about 80 to 85% full, while charging with the Stay'N Charge/ All Charge which is DC current you will get 10 to 15% more of a charge on your batteries. This implies to all DC charging systems also. Hope this helps.

I had issues at first, batteries not lasting all day and I talked to someone and they told me the the onboard chargers do not charge the battery 100% that I should use a trikle charger once and then the onboard would charge 100%. I have been doing that ever sense and I have not had any issues. I have also been able to fish all day take a nap and fish all night with out having to charge the batteries.

All chargers use DC for charging. I have tested my batteries and have come to the conclusion that the my Dual Pro charges to 90+ percent before it shuts off.
If you are running two batteries in parallel you need nothing else. In effect what you are doing is making two act as one. The only possible problem would of course be if you run the trolling motor long enough to drain you battery system to the point that they would not start your motor. If you have the 27 size batteries that should take some doing.
What motor are you using? What trolling motor(lb thrust)? I assume you are running 12 volt trolling motor.

Yes you can put the two batteries plus to plus and neg to neg and the motor will charge them both. It all depends on the motor and altenater size as how fast they will charge.
