I have never tried chumming for cats. I usually fish in stillhouse withought a boat. What would be a good way to chum? And can you chum from say a dock?

Yes you can rodbender21. You can broadcast chum out from the bank or a dock. Your just a little more limited on where you can fish. You can go ahead and broadcast your chum just as if you were fishing out of a boat, just try and keep your bait in the area that you have chummed. Use sour grain, milo or wheat or mix or Range cubes. I have better and faster luck with Sour grain but some prefer cubes due to less mess. You can even star to chum an area a few days before you plan on fishing the area and you'll probably have even better luck.
Good luck, let us know how you do.

Never heard of breeder cubes that sounds like a fancy name for range cubes.Just make sure what ever you throw out sinks like dog food, some range cubes,etc...I will never forget the day I watched a 8$ bag of dog food float accross the lake.

I went out to Atwoods and found some bredder cubes. I asked an employee and asked specifically for range cubes. She said she had breeder cubes and I bought a 50 pound bag for about $5.45. Now range cubes are exactly what? Meaning what is the designed use for it.

I think they were designed to be used as cattle feed. Im guessing breeder cubes, and range cubes are about the same thing.

You can get range cubes and grain at your local feed store. For grain I use hen scratch. It has corn, wheat and milo (maze). To sour the grain pour some into a bucket WITH A GOOD LID. Then put enough water in the bucket to cover the grain plus a couple of inches. Put the bucket in the sun for a week or two. Some people add a beer to help speed up the souring.

Big Marv's Cheese punch bait!!! There are a lot of OK punch baits out there, but you can't beat Big Marv's. It stays on the hook great, some times catching 3 and 4 fish without re-baiting. I've used a lot of the other name brand bait on the market but through and through Marv's has proved it's self for me and other guides I know. I've seen many times we would throw out a little sour grain, toss a hook covered with Marv's and it's on. Some guys will try and tell you to go with one of these higher price baits, watch out. Marvin makes this bait his self and if you contact him he will send it straight to you at a great price 830-789-4445. I don't get anything from Marvin for promoting his bait, not even a discount. This is just one of the best baits on the market, and I want to share that fact with every Catfishermen I meet that wants a recommendation on a great punch bait. Feel free to check out the Photo Album link in my signature to see picture of fish caught on Big Marv's.

Loaded question..lol I offer mine first and then others can give suggestions on other baits they prefer as everyone has a favorite.. Mine is coming from personal prefernce and success rates. Danny's stays on the hook way better and catches me more fish than anything I have yet to find, preferablly the blood. www.dannykings.comHowever I was introduced to mr. whiskers punchbait by a client and it had may of the attributes that Danny's King's did. Didn't sling off, stayed on, caught exceptional amount of fish, and was easy to apply on the hook. http://www.dcregistry.com/users/whiskers/Here's the latest from this weekend with Danny's http://www.hillcountryfishin.com/PICTURES.htmlI hope this helped you out and offered several different slections, bottom line they all catch fish, jsut comes down to what catches more and works best for you. Good Luck and let us know how you it goes for ya

Thanks guys! Now I have to go try it out. I have never chummed for cats. We just always use fresh shad or chicken blood, but the blood is hard to find now.
