I have a 2009 Skeeter Z-190 with 150 Yamaha and factory jack plate. I am looking at getting a Lowrance Elite 7 Ti in a few months. I fish a small lake with LOTS of stumps and lay downs(Naconiche). What can I do, or where do I mount the transducer where I won't have to worry about dragging it off on a log?
Or am I better off sticking with a lake with no cover?
Need y'alls advice....

Since total scan will not ready while on plane, mount it on the actual transom, as close to the center as possible where it won't pick up motor noise or e hit by the outboard when trimmed down. Make sure it has a clear view to both sides and the Skeeter's sponson's are not in the way. If you think about it, when you hit a stump, very rarely does it go right down the center. The "vee" moves it away from the center line of the boat.
