I'm wanting to do some bass fishing in ponds around Forney, Heath, and Rockwall, but I don't know where any are. Thanks!

I think there is a guy on here that you pay a monthly fee to and he has a bunch of ponds in that area that you get access to. I know he lives in Plano or Richardson.

I live in Heath, and I have been searching for two years. I have advertised on several sites that I will pay the privilege to fish on private, stocked property and have received zero responses. If anyone knows of any property owners who will accept around $20 per person for catch and release, please let me know. I will never own another boat, so I am a bank fisherman who loves the smaller waters. Seems the locals keep secrets really well, or are not interested in making a few bucks from a small town guy with deep respect for property owners. I only leave footprints and a few lost lures.

Phelps lake is a great place for big bass in Rockwall. I group up bank fishing the area and it's probably the best there is

We use to lease Phelps lake, but had to give up the lease 5 or 6 years ago. Too many people were poaching. Sad, because it was a good fishing lake and great proximity to the east side of the Metroplex. I have heard that the lake has now been decimated by folks keeping too many fish. I have no idea why people think hoping a fence on private property with No trespassing signs all over the place is legal or moral. Somebody, owns that property and we had people paying to fish here, but in the end we had to give it up to poachers.

I just got back from fishing Phelps and a guy caught a 4 pounder and a 5 pounder right next to me. Lake is still producing.

There are a couple of ponds across the road from Brown MS in Forney, near a newly built home edition. I've fished there plenty of times and it's a little known fish factory!

I'll step out on a limb here and admit that I fished ponds my entire childhood without permission. It was FUN and VERY exciting at times...to say the least. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one either
With that said, it's only poaching if you keep the fish or animals which I never did...so I guess I'm good there.
When in doubt, do without.
