OP Stikslinger Outdoorsman Joined: Jun 2016 Posts: 145	Hit a stump tonight hard and the trolling motor will not turn left or right. I can do it by hand so I know the cable is still on the pulley. It will not lay into the cradle straight so I'm assuming its bent but it does not look bent. Can anyone give me an idea of how to fix? Thanks

SteezMacQueen TFF Guru Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 27,217 Red Oak, Texas	Yep....you broke the unbreakable shaft. Probably around the top gear that in countersunk into the shaft up top. I just finished replacing mine. Not too hard, just heat up the motor housing near the shaft to loosen up the epoxy and use a pipe wrench. Eat. Sleep. Fish.

ProAmerica Unregistered P	For a cheaper fix, go back and locate same stump you hit. Then turn your TM 180 degrees and try to hit stump at same speed. Usually straightens shaft to original shape.

It was a funny and the guy with the problem thought it was too. But there was a time or two when I saw a serious response to a dumb idea on here. I am a Senager.
