Set out a sample trot line (only 10 hooks) a few days ago up against the bulkhead in the backyard baited with chicken livers. Checked it 4 times since and each time had from 2 to 3 channels on it averaging about 18-20" each. Water temps dropped to 78*F and they seem to be hitting shoreline bulkheads like they do in the Spring.
Rod & Reel PB: Blue Cat 53 lbs/12 lb test, Flathead Cat 78 lbs/20 lb test, Channel Cat 17 lbs 12 lb test, Texas common carp 40 lbs/12 lb test, White crappie 2.8 lbs, Black crappie 2.3 lbs all Lake Conroe

They are biting well at fork in 30 feet deep also. I think there are so many fish in fork you could catch them just about any depth.
