I will be working near possum kingdom lake for the next couple of months and know nothing about the area. I am staying in Graham and looking for some good bank fishing locations in the area that I can hit in the afternoons after work. I would prefer to locate some sandies and largemouth. Can anyone give me some pointers where the better places to wet a hook are located? Thanks for the help

Mr G. I really enjoy catching trout at the highway 16 bridge bellow possum kingdom. you can also catch stripers, and sandbass. When the water warms up, you can catch bass and bluegill. A couple of other options are to join the american fish and game club. I have been a member for 6 years, and love it. There are some great tanks within an hour from you. Great way to fish. Log on and check out the site. tell em Russell told you about it. And also don't forget to talk to the locals in graham. many local places to fish, if you get permission. a lot of people retire out there, and love to see people come out and bring them fish for dinner. let me know how your pursuit goes. Later, trout bum

Mr G, I'm not sure I'd spend that much time at PK right now. It's being hit by Golden Algea pretty hard right now. I've been reading about the fish kills out there. This is something that's been going on for several years now. Very depressing as that lake was a great fishery in it's time. However, check out Lake Graham. Also, a little known fishing hole that used to hold some monster is Lake Bryson. I've been wanting to fish that lake for some time now & can't get away from all the pig hunting action. Not to mention, Jacksboro has several lakes at your disposal. One is a traditional Texas lake, the other is deep & clear. You will be able to find some good fishing between those choices. Look it up on www.mapquest.com to find out how to get to these waters.

Last time I saw Bryson, it was severley low. I could not go up creek at all because of the thick vegetation. Only limited water at the dam.
I am from Graham, and it has several spots that may work good for you. Lake Eddleman side at Eddleman park has some good spots for the bank. Near the boat ramp, there is some pretty good structure back around to the left. Rocks, laydowns, etc. This is going out on the Newcastle Hwy. Both bridges always have people on them as well. Might try there.
Graham side is going to be more limited from the bank. There are some places off of White Rose Rd. that can be accessed from the bank. White Rose is on the same hwy going to Newcastle, in between the first and second bridge. (Approx. 4 miles out of town. Road is on the left.)
