Alien...now pay attention: First you get an official, with an official scale, and the appropriate official paperwork, then, well, you get it. hammer

Dont get me wrong it is a great fish, but I really hate to see fish posted as records that I know arnt correct. No doubt it is a good fish, but many bigger ones have been caught out of there than that. I have not personaly, but my uncle caught a 16 lb channel cat out there(trotline), and yes I saw and cleaned it, because he doesnt clean fish. And yes I know the difference between a channel and a blue.

if that 16#'er was not certified as the record, then it doesn't count ... 27 years ago a feller from knox city caught a 15# walleye out of stamford lake, on trilene line no less ... he cleaned & ate the fish so it didn't count for nuttin' & even had several witnesses ... one of his friends was huntin' for the game warden to get the fish certified but the guy gave up & cleaned it

for those of you that don't know, back then any fish record that was set usin' trilene line was an automatic 1000 bux from them

i may be wrong about the brand ... i know it was one of them seems like trilene was it

regards albertking

catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

Hey it happens. I'm pretty sure my buddy caught the Fayette lake record earlier this month. But, we didn't know what the record was at the time, so we didn't get it weighed.

No biggie. We'll know better next time. smile

Also, another couple of buddies of mine CPR'd what would have been the Conroe lake Record. (I wasn't on that trip, but, I saw the pics) It was a pig!!

That's why I asked Cliff how he was able to get it certified. If anyone can do it, he can. He is an an accomplished fisherman and his ability to get a fish registered puts another feather in his cap as a service to his clients. Check this out...His ad

Sorry to be gone so long, business.
As a guide you should know the current records for the body of water you fish, at a minimum.
I knew the record to be 4. lb 10 oz. Have I caught bigger? Yes. Have alot of people, yes, will it be broken again YES.
Did I make it special and get my client a award certificate from TPW (you bet) and go above and beyond for him..I know this from the phone call I got when he got his award in the mail and his praise for going above and beyond other than just a day on the water.

It's a nice fish caught by a Extremely Nice man whom I did the paper work for (as I should) to make sure he recieved recognition for his fish.
It's customer Service 101 and if you don't demand the same type of service outta business, then you're not getting what you paid for.
Bottom line. It will be broken , almost did today as a matter of fact, and broken again.
I Swear to provide the best service Possible for my clientele to include knowledge of records and submitting paperwork to TPW to acknowledge their efforts.
It's that simple

I only know Cliff from the boards and the seminar at BPS. But I'm telling you, if I had my own company and I could afford him, I'd hire Cliff in a heartbeat. Doing what? Doesn't matter, That kind of attitude is going to be successful no matter what he does.

Buddy of mine was at Cally when they pulled the concrete ramps out yesterday and said he saw literally a million snakes. I hope he's wrong but he was told the other ramp is going to be redone as well.
