There are a lot of great fishing spots on fort hood. One I like to go to is right off 190 across from CTC, Bell Tower exit. And a few fishing spots by the airfield I've caught some real nice bass here.

There are some really great small lakes on Ft Hood stocked with some great fish. Check with the Ft Hood Rod & Gun Club for details.

Make sure that the lakes on Ft. Hood you want to fish are not restricted or require a special pass as well. When I was there still living with my parents my father and I went to a pond on the wrong side of the road and found out it was restricted when the game warden showed up and wrote us a ticket for each fish we took from the pond because we were not signed in to that area.

This time of year I would hit the Lampasas above Stillhouse near Gravel Crossing road or go North of Ft. Hood to the Nolan river above Lake Whitney or in the tail waters below the dam, both of these rivers will have some outstanding sand bass action this time of year.

back in 97 when i was stationed there i fould an outflow stream of a restricted lake behind some motorpools ( wish i could give you better directions but i cant remember exactly) it had a trail beside it and there were a few deeper pools along it that held some real nice fish. it was at the end of a small gravel road that went between two motor pools that had APC's, tanks and HMMWV vehicles in them.
