I don't know anyone that really shops much at either of these places. Plenty of other outdoor/sporting goods retailers in the world.

Lol! 100 million + people cross the turnstiles at BPS annually. I'm pretty sure you know plenty of people who shop there...

Both have a place but it may not be long until they are both pretty much the same.

Agreed.

The more sporting good companies out there the better in my books.

I shop at BPS and Cabelas but I buy from Anglers and Academy (and online).

I shop at BPS on occasion. Their stik-o's are my favorite stick bait just because of the price point and quality is pretty decent. I've returned leaky duck hunting waders on more than one occasion and they have always done a great job with CS. The first pair of waders I returned were out of warranty but they still gave me 100 dollars in store credit for them. I've never had a bad experience with them. I can't say the same about Cabelas... but thats probably because I shop there more due to it being half a mile from my house...

I know of people that shop there, nobody I know well buys tackle or rods/reels there

BPS and Cabelas exist to service the people that don't know any better. You pay extra for the touristy experience and maybe some people like that

I will admit I do buy a lot of hunting clothing at Cabelas. I'm sure I will find a fine alternative if their hunting apparel and footware selection becomes as bad as BPS

Morris is gaining wealth, which brings power and influence to his targeted markets... That can only be bad for the average joe, bps is expensive compared to any Academy apples to apples. I have bad gut feeling with the deal. 2cents

Free market gonna free market. People love it until they don't.
