John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
I've always taken this to mean the literal dying for one's loved ones, and also to lay aside ones dreams to help another achieve their own.
Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."
Always be that person that makes your loved ones look better (receive the recognition they deserve).

I enjoy reading the following scriptures because they tell us some of the wonderful things God has promised us when that Kingdom we all pray for every time we say the Lord's Prayer comes & His will takes place "on earth" as it is in heaven....
Psalms 37:10,11 & 29... 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were,And they will not be there. 11 But the meek will possess the earth,And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. 29 The righteous will possess the earth,And they will live forever on it.
John 5:28, 29... 28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.
Revelation 21:4......4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
The thought of living forever in peaceful conditions, without sickness, pain, suffering or even death sounds really great to me & being reunited with lost loved ones is something everyone who has ever lost a loved one can look forward to..... Remember, God has promised these wonderful things, so let's do our best to make sure we're there to enjoy them...

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Just one of many right now.
Romans 9:15 For He saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

One more favorite of mine
John 15:5
Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. (NLT)

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

This one keeps me going, and gives me hope daily.
James 1:12 12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

u beat me 2 it...i can hear my mother quote this, and other verses, as she stood n the kitchen cookin'... Proverbs 3: 5,6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own knowledge. Acknowledge His ways in all you do and He will direct your path.
It's a good reminder that I am never really in control...... thank God for that truth!

John 3.16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life! And the lead-in to this verse, where Jesus is talking to Nicodemus, a member of the Sanhedrin - and Jesus tells him how to be saved: 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. I am also a strong believer in Romans 8:28
