Ok, you have our attention...are you going to reveal where your 'home waters' are located?

Yes it is TN. I'm happy to hook you guys up Todd. In the next few weeks the top water bite starts. I saw some fish hitting the surface briefly, indicating top water is just around the corner. It's a blast when big schools of 15-20 pounders hit the top.

What is your all favorite top water lures for big hybrids? When can we expect the bite on the top water to pick up in North Texas? Nice fish!

CaptainBarkley, in TN when the fish are on top they will hit most anything. I like a Zara Spook. I don't know when the North Texas bite starts, I'm sure the other guys on this site know.

While I was reading your post, I was praying so hard that your home waters was Lake Texoma. I guess I didn't pray hard enough.

I want very much to have Texoma become the great striper fishery it once was. I love living and fishing in Texas. I grew up in TN which has one of the best striper fisheries in the world. Norris lake, Cherokee Lake, Watts Bar lake, Melton Hill Lake, Fort Loudon Lake, are all great striper lakes and are all within a one hour drive of each other. I went after numbers on this trip, I wanted to catch a lot of fish and we did. Our guide called the fish in the pictures, "cookie cutter schoolies" and called our 20 fish days slow. There is also a trophy fishery there as well with fish from 40 to 60 pounds common. I caught one that went 50 pounds. That fish is in the pick below along with another I did not measure. I love going up there and look for any excuse to go just let me know. I do not make money on going there, it cost me money just like everyone else. Perhaps I should start organizing trips for pay...naa.
