Anyone been on joe pool in the past week? Curious what water conditions and clarity is like? Have they moved into fall pattern or still out on main lake points? Thanks for any help!

I haven't been in several weeks. I would think they are up in the trees.

I was out there Wednesday and caught most of mine in the trees on medium diving cranks. Lots of small ones.

Just curious when you guys mention "trees" at Pool, are you talking about shallow submerged trees or standing timber?

I was referring to the standing timber.

Are you talking timber past the bridge past cedar hill, or more toward Loyd park. I fished the timber beyond cedar hill, with a square bill, but only caught some sand bass.

We caught several small bass shallow in the trees on primary points south of Cedar Hill, mostly on a weightless fluke. Tough bite...

Was a tough day on the water, caught a few shallow on points near Cedar Hill park, not much else. There was a boat in just about every cove and on every other point today, hope some of them had better luck.

Saturday was my second trip to Joe Pool, my son and I fished from sun-up to 1 pm and had a consistent bite untill 11:30 went I went looking at coves near the dam. We started with top waters on a point and boated three keepers very quickly, largest being around 3.5#. Fished the shady side as the sun came up and caught two more. With the cloud cover we stayed with the topwaters until 9am, after that I caught the most on a jig and my son did well with a wacky worm. The bite would come in groups, usually two to three in a area. These came in areas with timber and on a few "do nothing" banks. Joe Pool became my twelve years old favorite lake.

Every time I go to pool, it's a great day. I love the lake too, just wish I didn't have to pay $10 to launch, $15 on a minor holiday, and $20!!!! On a major holiday. Seems as though it's a bit of a "racket" some times. Is it Corp or Mafia controlled?
