I went in Saturday and bought 4 Michelins for my Tahoe. I don't buy a tire based on price or warranty. I buy based on what I think is the best tire for my vehicle with the driving performance I want.

For some reason I really have a hard time comprehending this post. when you need new tires for your 2012 Chevy Malibu when you walk up to the counter at Discount Tire, Sears, or wherever you normally buy tires do you ask for a specific brand or do you see what they cost and what warranty they have, and how long they are recommend to last 50,000 or 60,000, ect? I know before I go in there what tire and at what price i want..... didn't know there was another way in this age of instant information

If you need tires give my son, Cody Ayres a call @ Discount Tire in Grand Prairie off 303. He's the Manager there. He will treat you right.

I tell them to put the cheapest tires they have. This time I'm going to try to save up a little and buy a little bigger tire. It'll look better with the leveling kit.

Another great tool for figuring out what tire is best for your vehicle is tire rack.

I think most folks go in, they (at least at Discount) go out and 2X check the size then they enter the info in the computer and they will show you all the tires that match, price, warranty, and the mileage lifetime. Most folks just get the cheapest. I will get something that fits my budget and has the warranty and lifetime I'm looking for. Heck even the cheapest tire for my truck is about $185 each. The Bridgestones that I got were about $215/tire. I also bought a set for our car we had at the time so they took it down to $200 each and didn't charge for the Discount Tire extra warranty that covers flats that can't be patched or plugged, and some other things.

I was luck and my spare (full size) only had about 160mi on it (Distance from Just South of Sheffield to Big Lake to San Angelo). So I didn't need to replace the spare.

I know I like Nitto Terra grapplers for my Tundra. I get on the net at Onlinetires.com and tirerack.com and check out the best price delivered. I take it to Discount and they match the price for me every time. I save around $200-$300 each time.

Saw some sketchy dudes in a Chevy Malibu looking like they wanted to steal the new tires I just had delivered from Tire Rack. Just me showing up chased them off.
I researched quite a bit and bought some close-out name-brand well reviewed 16 inch R performance tires for about $35 off each retail. Otherwise my budget would've been more off-brand stuff like Falken or whatever DT or TireRack had. Can't wait to get them fit on the Celica.

I do care about tire quality. I think it's one of the most important things on a vehicle. Some folks brag about how many miles they get out of them. I think having good quality tires is a big deal. I never run mine down to bare. Pure, concentrated dumbness in my opinion.
What is your question? Question is do you go in only wanting Nitto, Goodyear, Pirelli? yes, I do my research on the interweb and then shop around for the best price. recently found out that wally world carries nitto and can get my size, I will save about 100.00 over a tire store when I buy. difference out here is I am limited to what is available and what I want, a drive to dallas would just kill any savings if I got any.

I just bought new tires for my pickup. I found the tire I wanted and got a printed quote for the tire. Discount could not beat the price for the tire I wanted.

I start with Michelin due to the history I have with using them. However, I think any business has an interest in promoting certain products based on cost, stock, incentives etc. I was pleasantly surprised to know Michelin has a 3 year flat change service included.

Just tell em you want Michelin and save the hassle.
