power poles are they worth the money ?

I don't know if they are worth the money but they sure are nice to have when you need them, that new Minnkota Ultrex trolling motor may put a damper on shallow water anchor sales.

Not for freshwater fishing unless you fish a lot in spots with shallow water and soft bottoms where you want to hold a spot.

As they said above they are nice when you need them my experience with mine is that i use it a lot such as this weekend i was going thru a flat with about 4ft of water bass started schooling so i stopped and put PP down and sat there and caught several bass then proceeded on also if you have to make a bait adjustment or take a drink or eat you can lower you PP and do so and stay on your spot as long as you are in the right depth pending on which PP you have i have an 8ft, 7ft is the Max i use mine at but i guess this could depend on what the bottom is made of and how much wind you might could get it to hold at 7 1/2ft. Also use my when wind is blowing and Im fishing 6 to 7ft of water i'll lower PP and fish the area then pick up and move 50 yards lower PP again and keep do this to cover water instead of staying on trolling motor. I do believe you will get a lot of benefit and good use out of one just my option.

I don't know how I fished without them now. I have a set of 10' Blades and they are awesome. I thought that I would only use them in the spring but that is not the case. They will also hold well on hard bottoms. I have zero complaints and will have a set when I get a new boat next year.

I use mine everytime on the water as around the ramp to out sight fishing, shallow water. If I'm in shallow enough water I'll drop them and retie or change baits if I have to and don't worry about the boat drifting or hitting trees. They have there time and place, and very useful tool.

There are cheaper ways to put a power pole on your boat or yak. YouTube has tons of videos on DIY power poles. Check it out.

Guys who have bought them will say 'worth every penny' whether they use them or not. Guys who haven't bought them will say 'meh'.

As joebass2 said, if you got em you use em.

I use mine when I launch, pull up on the ramp, drop them and go park. When I am in boat slip I use them to keep the boat from swinging around.

Re-tying, fishing boat docks, taking care of the call of nature (PP anchors).

I won't be without them.

I don't have any, but fish with some guys that have ether poles or talons. I had the boat on a 4 or 5 acre lake Monday with the wind and rain. Would have made it a lot easier to fish, and they were holding tight to wood. We were well south of the DFW and the weather was just sitting on us, with 20+ winds in a 17'6 boat, so yeah, would have been nice.

If your any kind of shallow water fisherman especially fishing docks or patches of flooded cover you will not regret it. If where you store your boat where it will accommodate 10' I would get them but would not go lower then the 8'.
