Im currently in Iraq. But I have some question for when I come back to Texas. What is a good method for catching sandies from a bank, and is spring time the only good time for bank fishing.

Somebody just back of you while you are fishing is as bad as someone looking over your shoulder while you write a letter to your girl.

Jigs during the spawn is the best time. You can catch fish year round from the bank, just have to know where.

Below any dam that is releasing water...

Or

On any lighted pier that is adjacent to a river channel or creek channel. Example in Central Texas, Resort Ranch on Lake Travis.

Good places for Texas' winter/spring white bass spawning run:
Sabine River upstream from Toledo Bend Reservoir.
Trinity River upstream from Lake Livingston.
Angelina River upstream from Sam Rayburn Reservoir.
Neches River upstream from B.A. Steinhagen Reservoir.
San Jacinto River upstream from Lake Conroe.
Yegua and Nails creeks upstream from Lake Somerville.
Frio River upstream from Choke Canyon Reservoir.
Nueces River upstream from Lake Corpus Christi.
Pedernales River upstream from Lake Travis.
Colorado River upstream from Lake Buchanan.

What part of Texas are you returning to????

I'll be returning to fort hood. I fish the Stillhouse hollow, and Belton lakes and dams mostly. But I was there only a few months before I got deployed, so I have not had alot of time to fish the area. But Im up to any fishing when I get back.
