Yes, and as he ages, will develop what is known as "tobacco crevace" down the corner of one side of his mouth that serves as "overflow" drainage. Although common to tobacco chewers, this also can happen to snuff dippers.
Everything on your bass boat is broken......You just don't know it yet.

I think they just say it because they're sick of cleaning up spit bottles. Alaskan said the same thing on a return trip from Seattle. Funny thing was, they didn't say it on the way up there.
It has to be in writing to be official. How's this? RULE 47 SMOKE FREE SERVICE Delta prohibits smoking and the use of all smokeless tobacco products on all flights operated by DL worldwide. EXCEPTION: This rule does not apply to codeshare flights operated by another airline. Rules are meant to be broken.

Dad used to spit his Copenhagen in old coke bottles when I was growing up. I am not to proud to say that I once made that mistake. Notice I said ONCE! My Dad did the same. It's hard to tell a fountain drink from tobacco spit when there is a lid and straw. Took a slurp while we were going down the road. Puked on the side of the highway. Never again.

Coffee cups with a dark lid are the way to go.
Don't dip the foo-foo flavors that stink up everything. Get up and use the restroom and put your dip in.
Take cup with you when you land.

I did that at my desk not too long ago.

I always dip and on any airline. I take a tea bottle half full and close the lid every time I spit which takes care of the smell. I take the bottle out with me and throw it in the trash for the winos to drink.

I am a snuff dipper. There are two kinds of dippers
1. The guy who can tuck it away discreetly. Spit inconspicuously and carry on with daily life (drinking, talking, etc) without bringing notice. You know, the guy you think is drinking coffee or sipping from a straw.
2. The dude who rams it in his front lip area for the world to not only see the "shiny" stretched frontal lip area, but half of the said snuff as well. This is the guy who constantly spits and makes more noise than a diesel engine when doing so. He never has to spit his dip out because he looses approximately 5% with every salivary extraction and perfumes the air around him with the smell of wintergreen. This is the guy who must immediately rinse as well because he cant keep the dip in one place, hence every oral orifice has been touched, creating a gagging effect.
Just my 2 cents
I'm guy #1 and I always chew tobacco on flights and the person next to me, usually my wife never sees my spit cup.

Dip or chew , it's disgusting ...., causes mouth cancer . Got a friend now with lower jaw removed , uses a feeding tube planted permanently down what's left of his throat . Pain to look at but hey , a friend is a friend !
